Project Manager

 

HJW Geospatial is seeking an experienced Project Manager to design, contract and manage aerial mapping projects and professional services, with responsibility for budget schedule and quality, along with associated client management and participation/coordination with the sales and marketing teams.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for technical design, cost estimation, budget, performance strategy and schedule of photogrammetric aerial mapping projects.
  • Responsible for participating in and supporting company-wide initiatives including quality control programs, weekly meetings and information sharing.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with clients, business partners and subcontractors.
  • Responsible for managing multiple open projects -as many as 20 at a time.
  • Responsible for fostering goodwill with clients, business partners and subcontractors, while documenting and disseminating industry information gleaned from these interactions.
  • Responsible for coordinating and sharing information with sales and marketing staff on a continual basis.
  • Responsible for organizing all project-related information and data, as well as sales lead information into pre-defined structures and systems.
  • Responsible for interacting and effectively communicating with clients and other groups including production, operations and accounting.
  • Responsible for effectively analyzing, characterizing, quantifying and communicating project-related dependencies, risks and alternate strategies to clients and all relevant parties, and dissemination of such information with supervisor at various stages of the project or opportunity’s lifecycle.
  • Regular weekly documented reporting to Accounting, Sales Director and Project Director.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • B.S or M.S. degree preferably in one of the following areas: Photogrammetry, Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Civil Engineering, GIS, or related field.
  • Demonstrated:
    • Analytical problem-solving skills
    • Customer service skills
    • Organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with experience in MS Project desired
  • Must demonstrate competency working with GIS/CAD software such as ESRI, AutoCAD, and have good understanding of maps, scales, projections and datums.
  • Must have excellent Must have a minimum of two years in a professional field at project management level, including experience in
    • Preparing price quotations for products and services,
    • Procuring contracted services.
  • Desired: working knowledge of photogrammetric workflow, including project design, flight planning, aerial triangulation, DTM processing, orthophoto production, map compilation and LiDAR.
  • Desired certifications: ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist (CP) / Technologist, GISCI GIS Professional (GISP) or similar

  • The ability to translate client requirements into clear specifications for production operations and to break down complex information into straightforward requirements when discussing bridging client-facing and internal discussions.
  • The ability to research and gather internal and external information in support of various initiatives and to aid decision-making.
  • The ability to conduct cold-calls, build friendly relationships and consult with qualified people in support of project initiatives.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while adhering to a framework of standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and clearly define and communicate priorities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic workplace and industry that is continually evolving.
  • This is a client-facing position- the ability to build trust, instill confidence and reliability as well as develop friendly relations with clients and business partners is a key element of the role.
